Founded in early 2025, Spectre is a research and strategic advisory firm built on a simple principle: decisions should be grounded in evidence, not assumption. We apply a a modern, rigorous, and data-led approach to deliver clarity organisations need to act with confidence.

Founder

Morgan James is the founder of Spectre Strategy, with over a decade of experience in research and insights. He has a background across boutique and agency strategy, as well as in opinion polling and strategic advisory.

This work includes leading global and Australian business, industry groups, and political parties, with engagements in Australia, Europe, Asia, and beyond. These engagements have been instrumental in large scale campaign prosecution, in effecting regulatory outcomes, and providing political parties with the insights they need to prosecute an effective campaign.

Morgan has conducted research featured in publications such as the Australian Financial Review, The Daily Telegraph, and the Sydney Morning Herald among others, and worked with think tanks both on academic research and opinion pieces, including the Henry Jackson Society in the UK, the Centre for Independent Studies, and Lowy Institute in Sydney.

Former clients include numerous organisations across energy, technology, consumer brands, finance, and public policy sectors. Morgan has worked with political parties on both the left and right of the spectrum in Australia, and prepared polling engagements for parties in Europe and Asia.
